Fleda Marilyn Simmons, age 85, of Dieterich, Illinois passed away at 10:17 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Heath Care Center in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. Judy Poe will be officiating. There will be a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Burial will be at Keen’s Chapel in Larkinsburg Township, Illinois. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. Memorials may go to Alzheimer’s Association, Keen’s Chapel or donor’s choice.

Fleda was born on August 16, 1931 in Clay County, Illinois, the daughter of David I. and Felicia M. (Abel) Davis. She married Harold Simmons Sr. She was baptized on January 20, 1949 at The Iola Pentecostal Church in Iola, Illinois. She enjoyed her dogs, cattle, farm life, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her three sons, Harold Simmons Jr. (wife Pat) of Heartville, Illinois, John Simmons (wife Barb) of Dieterich, Illinois, Kevin Simmons (wife Linda) of Casey, Illinois; daughter, Felicia Depoister of Dieterich, Illinois; 5 grandchildren & 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Felicia Davis; husband, Harold Simmons; sister, Florence Simmons and son-in-law, Clifford Depoister.
