Mabel E. Fancher, age 81, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 10:33 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. Ron Mulvaney will be officiating. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Leith Cemetery in Mason, Illinois. Visitation will be Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Effingham Humane Society or donor’s choice.

Mabel was born on July 5, 1935 in Effingham County, the daughter of John W. and Mary E. (Shup) Yingst. She married Earl S. Fancher on June 30, 1951 and he preceded her in death on November 4, 2003. Mabel was a dispatcher for 3 Corner’s Ambulance, a caregiver, and ran Aunt Mabel’s Quilt shop in Edgewood, Illinois for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her “furry friends” and socializing with people.

She is survived by her son, Floyd Fancher (wife Debra) of Mason, Illinois; two daughters, Debbie Rutledge (husband Lee) of Edgewood, Illinois and Rebecca Clark (husband Tom) of Altamont, Illinois; two brothers, John Yingst of Teutopolis, Illinois and Robert Yingst of Decatur, Illinois; five sisters, Elsie Robinson of Flora, Illinois, Connie Tipsword of Mason, Illinois, Gladys Austin of Edgewood, Illinois, Elaine Karns of St. Elmo, Illinois, Judy Long of Teutopolis, Illinois; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Yingst; two brothers, Lewis and Floyd Yingst; six sisters, Florence Coble, Ethel Simmons, Roberta Horath, Rosemary Higgs, Deloris Lilley and Coraline Lawhorn.
