Michael Hollinshead, age 65, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2016 at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Effingham, Illinois.

There will be no public services per family’s request. Memorials may go to the Farina American Legion Post #0411.

Michael was born on May 04, 1951 in Fayette County, Illinois, the son of Harold Hollinshead and Patsy (Gray) Brown. He was a member of the Farina American Legion Post #0411. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, walking, and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his father, Harold Hollinshead of San Angelo, Texas; mother, Patsy Brown of LaClede, Illinois; 6 brothers, Mark Hollinshead (wife Patty) of San Angelo, Texas, Robert Hollinshead (wife Linda) of Farina, Illinois, Joe Hollinshead of San Angelo, Texas, Max Hollinshead (wife Susie) of St. Elmo, Illinois, John Hollinshead (wife Ann) of Dieterich, Illinois, Chuck Hollinshead (wife Rachelle) of Vincennes, Indiana; 3 sisters, Sam Bradford (husband Doug) of Effingham, Illinois, Jeanette Kleinick of Vandalia, Illinois and Angie Ray (husband Cecil) of Saybrook, Illinois; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Don Brown.
