Arlene E. Lee

Arlene Elizabeth Lee, age 90, of St. Peter, Illinois passed away at 4:57 p. m. Sunday, November 25, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a. m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the St. Peter Lutheran Church with a one hour viewing prior to service. Reverend Ryan Meyer will be officiating. Burial will be the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p. m. to 7 p. m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Pagel Funeral Home in St. Peter, Illinois. Memorials may go to St. Peter Lutheran Church or the donor’s choice. 

Arlene was born on April 9, 1928 in Fayette County, Illinois to Paul and Ella (Graumenz) Magnus. She married Charles W. Lee on September 7, 1947. Arlene and her husband owned and operated Lee Oil Company in St. Peter for 25 years and the grocery store in St. Peter for several years. She was a member of the St. Peter Ladies Aid and the St. Peter Ladies Auxiliary. Her favorite pass time was crocheting and gardening.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Lee (wife Twila) of Altamont, Illinois; two brothers, Lavern Magnus (wife Esther) and Hilmer Magnus (wife Ruth) both of St. Peter, Illinois; two sisters, Malinda Hinton (husband Orville) of St. Elmo, Illinois, Deloris Ford (husband Darrell) of Tuscola, Illinois; 4 grandchildren, Joseph, Jared, Chet and Nicholle plus 6 great grandchildren.      

Arlene was preceded in by her parents, Paul and Ella Magnus; husband, Charles Lee and one son, Dennis Lee.
