Helen J. Depoister

Helen Juanita Depoister, age 91, of Effingham, Illinois passed away at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois with a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Judy Poe will be officiating. Burial will be at Keen’s Chapel Cemetery in Larkinsburg Township, Illinois. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018. Memorials may go to Keen’s Chapel Cemetery or the donor’s choice.

Helen was born on September 27, 1926 in Clay County, Illinois, the daughter of Albert and Clara (Hildebrand) Reinhardt. She married Clarence Depoister on September 12, 1945 in Mason, Illinois. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in LaClede, Illinois. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her two daughters, Judy Lane-Krone (husband Leroy) of Teutopolis, Illinois and Connie Hoover (companion Charlie McWhorter) of Effingham, Illinois; brother, John Reinhardt (wife Janet) of Quincy, Illinois; sister, Mary Lou Bee of Tuscola, Illinois; 10 grandchildren; many great- grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Clara Reinhardt; husband, Clarence Depoister; daughter, Geraldine Metcalf; brother-in-law, Howard Bee.
