Jessica Lynn Wagner

Jessica Lynn Wagner, age 40, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away tragically at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2019 in Vandalia, Illinois.

There will be no services, cremation rites will be observed. Memorials may be sent to Pagel Funeral Home, 100 N Olive, St. Elmo, Illinois, 62458 to help defer funeral costs. 

Jessica was born July 3, 1979, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the daughter of Joe E. Wagner and Paula M. (Mercer) Wagner-Hess.  Jessica’s favorite time was the time she spent with her daughter, Hannah, and her extended family. Jessica loved long drives and the mountains of Colorado. She loved shooting pool, throwing darts, going for walks, and swimming.  Jessica loved music, The Golden Girls, doing hair and makeup.

Jessica is survived by her daughter, Hannah Wagner of LaClede, Illinois; father, Joe Wagner of Colorado Springs, Colorado; mother, Paula M. Mercer-Wagner-Hess of Vandalia, Illinois; grandmother, Carol M Taylor of Vandalia, Illinois; three brothers, Zachary Wagner of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Shanon Mercer (wife Suzy) of Bureau, Illinois, Chuck Mercer of Indiana; sister, Dawn Mercer-Logue (husband Bill) of Conway, South Carolina; step-brother, Eric Hess (wife Savanah) of Texa; two step-sisters, Angela Hess of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Diana Hess of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Uncle, Phillip Taylor (wife Willa) of Eagle Grove, Iowa; Aunt, Cindy Duncan (husband Duane) of Marseilles, Illinois; significant other; Owen Byrne of LaSalle, Illinois, and many Uncles, Aunts and several cousins.

Jessica was preceded in death by her step-father, Bradley Hess; grandfather, Norman F. Taylor; great-grandmother, Pauline Schulz and uncle, Norman R. Taylor.
