Linda M Cook, age 70, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 1:42 a.m., Monday, October 23, 2017 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

There will be no funeral services per family’s request.

Linda was born June 24, 1947 in Effingham County, Illinois, the daughter of Don W. and Opal (McArtor) Smith. She married Robert Cook on June 11, 2004 in Effingham, Illinois.  She was a member of the Edgewood American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.  She liked flowers, working crossword puzzles and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her husband, Robert Cook of Edgewood, Illinois; one son, Richard Matlock (wife Sara) of Effingham, Illinois; two brothers, Sonny Smith (wife Marty) of Alabama and Kenny Smith (wife Maggie) of Holly, Colorado; one sister, Loretta Woods (husband Charles) of Watson, Illinois; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Melissa Matlock.
