Adela D. Rubin, age 96, of St. Peter, Illinois passed away at 8:44 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Lutheran Care Center in Altamont, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2015 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in St. Peter, Illinois. Pastor William Emrick will be officiating. There will be a one hour viewing prior to the service. Burial will be at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in St. Peter, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont, St. Peter Lutheran Church Debt Fund or donor's choice.

Adela was born on November 25, 1918 in Fairland, Oklahoma, the daughter of George and Dorothea (Winter) Rubin. She was baptized on December 1, 1918 in Fairland, Oklahoma by T. A. Dautenhahn and was confirmed on March 20, 1932 in Altenburg, Missouri by Pastor Adolph A. Vogel. She was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, scrapbooking and braille work. Adela worked at various places in the St. Louis area and then worked at the Concordia Publishing Company for several years.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Violet Rubin of Decatur, Illinois; 5 nieces, Barb Collet (husband Bruce) of Rockwood, Tennessee,  Susan Roberts (husband John) of Farina, Illinois, Sharon Jurgens (husband David) of Decatur, Illinois, Joan Merry (husband Kevin) of Decatur, Illinois, Sandra Stombaugh (husband Steve) of Vandalia, Illinois; 3 nephews, David Duecker (wife Linda) of Castle Rock, Colorado, Donald Duecker (wife Janet) of Taylorville, Illinois and Ronald Rubin of Carbondale, Illinois and several great and great- great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Dorothea Rubin; sister, Arline Wheeler; 2 brothers, Arthur and Alvin Rubin and one sister in law, Ruth Rubin.
