Bertha Rae Dobson, age 84, of Mason, Illinois passed away the evening of Thursday, January 9, 2025 peacefully at her home.

Bertha's wishes to be cremated will be honored and there will be no services at this time. Memorials may go to the donor's choice.

Bertha was born on January 14, 1940 in Cook County, Illinois, the daughter of Fred M. and Viola (Bederake) Lewis. She married Jimmie Gene Dobson on December 20, 1956 in Lake Zurich, Illinois. Bertha loved being outside, gardening, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Dale Dobson (fiancé Susan Roberg) of Mason, Bruce Dobson of Mason, and Dwayne Dobson (fiancé Amy Rieman) of Iola; sister, Barbara Lewis-Strayve of Lake Zurich; six grandchildren, Lacey Dobson (Jake Kramer) of Mason, Rylee Case (Chad Percival) of Heartville, Lindsay Cameron (husband Gary) of Alma, Amanda Waller (husband Nick) of Tuscola, James Dobson of Iola, Hailey Pharris (husband Devin) of Flora; and seven great-grandchildren, Eli Kramer, Ivy Case, Gunner and Adalyn Davis, Ellie Mae Purdy, Allyannah Dobson, and Layton Waller.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Viola Lewis; husband, Jimmie Dobson; son, James Dobson; sisters, Mary Lewis and Lola Tempenny.
