Betty Lou Matlock, age 85, formerly of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Shelbyville Manor in Shelbyville, Illinois.

Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Edgewood Cemetery with visitation from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. Roger McIntire will be officiating.  Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or donor's choice.

Betty was born on February 27, 1930 in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of Walter H. and Frances (Kerschafske) Butler. She married Lee Roy Matlock on May 21, 1960 at in Sadorus, Illinois, who preceded her in death in August 1, 1999. Betty worked at a plastic model car factory for 15 years, and she enjoyed helping her husband farm their land and attend to the livestock. She was also known to astound people with her sense of humor.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Matlock (wife Jane) of Wilmington, Illinois, Randall Matlock (wife Connie) of Pawnee, Illinois; one brother, Harlin Butler of Tennessee; nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dennis Butler and one son, David Matlock
