Betty Jane Haslett, age 89, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 8:12 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the St. Elmo Christian Church in St. Elmo, Illinois.  There will be a one-hour viewing prior to the service.  Jim Ziegler will be officiating.  Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery in St. Elmo, Illinois.   Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 30 at the St. Elmo Christian Church.  Memorials may go to the Springhill Cemetery Fund or to the donor's choice.

Betty was born May 13, 1928 in Moultrie County, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Clara B. (Rhodes) Tucker.  She married Leo R. Haslett on September 27, 1947 in St. Elmo, Illinois. She was a member of the St. Elmo Christian Church. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren.

Betty is survived by one son, Marty Haslett (wife Crystal); two daughters, Janelle Dilley (husband Bruce) and Jeannine Rippetoe, all of St. Elmo, Illinois; three sisters, Katherine Cook of Farmington, New Mexico, Helen Smith of St. Elmo, Illinois and Margaret Haslett (husband Keith) of St. Elmo, Illinois; five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Clara Tucker and sister Mary Tucker in infancy.
