Betty J. Kuhns, age 87, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 9:50 p.m. Saturday, July 4, 2015 at the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont, Illinois.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Pagel Funeral Home in Edgewood, Illinois. Memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial may be made to the Heart to Heart Program at the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont, Illinois.

Betty was born on July 24, 1927 in Altamont, Illinois, the daughter of Ernest and Mabel (Siebert) Beccue. She married David Kuhns on March 28, 1951 in Edgewood, Illinois, who preceded her in death on October 5, 2002.  She was a devoted farmer's wife, who loved baking pies and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her three sons, Allen Kuhns of Edgewood, Illinois, Terry Kuhns (wife Lori) of Edgewood, Illinois, and Larry Kuhns of Edgewood; daughter, Rhonda Parmenter (husband Gary) of Effingham, Illinois; one brother, Arlon Beccue of Mason, Illinois; four sisters, Leora Williams of Keptown, Illinois, Ruby Eaton of Champaign, Illinois, Nelda Thompson (husband Jim) of Quaker City, Ohio, Linda Cox of Decatur, Alabama; 11grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Mabel Beccue; three brothers, Frank, Robert Beccue and Ernest C. (Junior) Beccue; three sisters, Dorothy Fisher, Eleanor Barksdale and Irene Winchester.
