Betty Jane Loy, age 92, of LaClede, Illinois passed away at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Aperion Care in St. Elmo, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2023 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood with a one-hour viewing prior to the service. James Mulvaney will be officiating. Interment will be at Keens Chapel Cemetery in LaClede. Visitation will be from 4  to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood.

Betty was born on March 6, 1931 in Larkinsburg Township, Illinois, the daughter of Lewis and Luella (Ramsey) Sapp. She married Floyd Allen Loy on November 6, 1989 For many years, Betty was employed at Brown's Produce. She loved attending auctions, socializing, and spending precious time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Floyd Loy of St. Elmo; daughters, Pamela Loy (friend Jeff) of LaClede, Cathy Landreth of LaClede, Chris Whipple (husband Lonnie) of Vandalia, Barbara Landreth (husband Joe) of LaClede, and Gail Fisher (husband Scott) of Dayton, Texas; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Luella Sapp; first husband, Fred Cook; son in infancy, Freddie Cook; daughter, Betty Ann McElyea; brothers, Leroy Sapp, Earl Sapp, Ralph Sapp, Vernon Sapp, Carrell "Jake" Sapp; sister, Mary Cruse; and grandson, Jr Whipple.
