Billy Joe Byers, age 68, of Xenia, Illinois passed away at 8:58 a.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at his home in Xenia, Illinois.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Iola Cemetery in Iola, Illinois. Military rites will be observed.

Billy was born on June 02, 1949 in Vandalia, Illinois, the son of William Herbert and Betty Joan (Livingood) Byers.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Joan Byers; two sons, William Byers (wife Elizabeth) of Marshall, Missouri and Derek Byers of Salem, Illinois; two daughters, Stephanie Byers of Sullivan, Illinois and Chasta O'dell of Charleston, Illinois; five brothers, Lonnie Byers of Farina, Illinois, John Byers (wife Sara) of Iola, Illinois, Tom Byers (wife Janet) of Iola, Illinois, Calvin Byers (wife Melissa) of Iola, Illinois, Terry Byers (wife Sandy) of Salem, Illinois; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Herbert Byers; brother, Jerry Lynn Byers and two grandchildren.
