Carl Lane, age 81, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 7:21 a.m. Sunday, October 4, 2015 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 at Freidens United Church of Christ in Farina, Illinois. There will be a one hour viewing prior to the service. Rob Dillingham will be officiating. Burial will be at Keen's Chapel Cemetery in rural LaClede. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Freidens United Church of Christ in Farina, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Freidens United Church of Christ in Farina, First United Methodist Church in Farina or donor's choice.

Carl was born on November 12, 1933 in Kinmundy, Illinois, the son of Henry and Mary (Charlton) Lane. He was a member of Men with Vision and Freidens United Church of Christ in Farina, Illinois. He enjoyed farming, gardening, going to church, and spending time with children.

He is survived by his son, Mike Cole (wife Crystal) of LaClede, Illinois; his 2 daughters, Brenda York (husband Brian) of Altamont, Illinois and Carla Linder (fiancé Steve Smith) of Salem, Illinois; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; his fiancé, Chyrel Winchester of Farina, Illinois; her daughter, Janine Findlay (husband Chuck) of Lincoln, Nebraska and their four children; her son, David Winchester (wife Leah) of St. Louis, Missouri and their 2 children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary Lane and one brother, James Lane.
