Carolyn Quade, age 70, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 5:00 a.m. Friday, April 03, 2015 at her residence.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altamont, Illinois with one hour viewing prior to service. Reverend Dr. Jim Wright and Reverend Bernard Ross III will be officiating. Burial will be at Arborcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Effingham, Illinois. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altamont, Illinois.   Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Siteman Cancer Center, Melanoma Research or donor's choice.

She was born on December 9, 1944 in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of Oscar and Jesse (Honeyman) Spoerl.   She married Gerald Quade on June 25, 1967 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Elizabeth, Illinois. After graduating high school, she earned her bachelor's degree in music at the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Quade of Edgewood, Illinois; son, Mark Quade of Edgewood, Illinois; daughter, Pam Germer (husband Dean) of Carmel, California; brother, Robert Spoerl (wife Deborah) of Elizabeth, Illinois; sister, Paula Bradway (husband Leroy) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister-in-law, Carolyn Willenburg (husband Wayne) of Edgewood, Illinois; four grandchildren, Kelcie Quade, Elise Germer, Maxwell Germer and Cora Germer; three nieces, Sarah Padre (husband Steven) of Washington DC, Miriam  Hermanson (husband Andy) of Salt Lake City, Utah and Kara Willenburg (fiancé Michael Hanft) of Huntington, West Virginia; four nephews, Jeffery Spoerl of Elizabeth, Illinois, Brian Bradway (wife Jen) of St. Paul, Minnesota, Kyle Willenburg of Edgewood, Illinois and Kilby  Willenburg (wife Megan) of Madison, Wisconsin and mother-in-law, Selma Quade of Altamont, Illinois.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Jesse Spoerl; daughter, Marie Quade, who died in infancy; brother-in-law, Larry Quade, who died in infancy; father-in-law, Harold Quade and one niece, Carrie Spoerl.
