Carolyn Yvonne Waltrip, age 88, of rural Brownstown, Illinois went home to her Lord and Savior on June 6, 2019 at her residence.

Visitation will be from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Pagel Funeral Homes in St. Elmo, Illinois with services to follow. Interment will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Cooks Mills, Illinois. Jim Giffin will be officiating. Memorials may go to Crossroads Cancer Center or the donor's choice.

Carolyn was born on July 15, 1930 in Carmi, Illinois and was lovingly cared for by her mother Lucille Wells. Carolyn married Norman Donald Waltrip of Mattoon on June 6, 1947. From this union, four children were born. Barbara Lynn, Donald Mark, Monica Lou, and Stephen Scott.

Carolyn cherished her time with family and loved being out in nature tending to her garden and lawn. She had a special companion, her dog, Cinnamon whom she loved dearly and was by her side when she passed.

She is survived by her three children, eight grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother; brother, Ernest Watkins; husband, Norman; daughter, Barbara; and granddaughter, Jennifer.
