Cheryl Ann Calhoun, age 67, of St. Elmo, Illinois, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026, at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, Illinois, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral service will be held at Pagel Funeral Home, St. Elmo, Illinois, on May 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation two hours prior to start of service. Jim Giffin will be officiating. Burial will take place in Saint Bonaventure Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pagel Funeral Home to help offset funeral costs or donor’s choice. Cheryl was born April 9, 1959, in Vandalia, Illinois, the daughter of Robert E. and Marie P. (Durbin) Kilzer. She married John C. Calhoun, Jr. on March 7, 1990, in Mount Vernon, Illinois and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2014. Family was the center of Cheryl’s life. She loved spending time with kids and grandkids and her dog, Yoshi. She was a hard dedicated worker and one of the best waitress’s around. She loved giving people a hard time and was a teaser.
Cheryl is survived by her son; Johnny Clinton Clark Calhoun, III, of Witt, Illinois, daughters; Amanda (partner, Clifton Davis) Calhoun of Nokomis, Illinois, Jenni (husband, Kenny) Warner of St. Elmo, Illinois, sister, Janet (husband, Gary) Flora of Beecher City, Illinois, grandchildren; DJ (wife, Diana) Warner, Nicholas Warner, Layne Parker, Madison Parker, Autumn Davis, Ella Davis, Devin Baker, Noah Horn, great-grandchildren; Raelynn, Greyson, Jaedyn, Lincoln Warner and Evie Baker, friend and confident, Sheryl Jackson, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marie Kilzer, husband John C. Calhoun, two brothers, Donald and Ronald Kilzer.
