Cody Mykel Hissong, age 26, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 4:50 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2019 in Louisville, Illinois.

A private funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 9, 2019 at Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo, Illinois.  Pastor PeeWee Denton will be officiating. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery in rural St. Elmo, Illinois.  Visitation will be Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to the donor's choice.

Cody was born on February 19, 1993 in Breese, Illinois, the son of Gregory L. Hissong and Jerri A. (Branson) Hissong.  He worked as a body shop repairman and painter.  He enjoyed kayaking, bicycling and spending time with his children.

He is survived by his father Gregory Hissong (wife Joy) of St. Elmo, Illinois; mother, Jerri Cisco (husband Don) of Louisville, Illinois; son, Marley Hissong of Teutopolis, Illinois; daughter, Abbi Hissong of Teutopolis, Illinois; maternal grandparents, Frank and Judi Kinney of Effingham, Illinois, Lewis Branson of Terre Haute, Indiana; paternal grandparents, Sandra D. Evans of St. Elmo, Illinois and Gary Hissong of St. Elmo, Illinois; paternal great-grandmother, Versie Baucum of St. Elmo, Illinois; several nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

Cody was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Harry and Faye Hissong and Bill Baucum; aunt, Glenda Brown.
