Obituary

Constance Elaine Rose, 85, life-long resident of Champaign County, went to her eternal reward on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Heartland Senior Living Care Facility in Neoga, IL.

As per Connie's wishes, a private service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Champaign County Humane Society or donor's choice.

Constance "Connie" Rose was born on September 12, 1939, the first of three daughters, at St. Anthony's Hospital, Effingham, IL to Thomas F. and Wilma I (Jinks) Rose.

Connie was a graduate of Champaign Central High School, class of 1957. Connie was a hard worker in whatever task was placed before her. She dedicated 57 years of service to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in multiple roles with the last 46 years at the U of I Police Department.  Connie was an avid sports fan. She participated in golf and bowling leagues. She loved cheering for U of I sports, particularly volleyball, football, and basketball.  A longstanding fan of the Chicago Cubs, she was happy to see them win the world series in her lifetime. For all her life, she was a faithful Christian servant with memberships at First Christian Church and CU Church. She was a Sunday school teacher, V.B.S. leader, and choir member.  Connie was a loving dog mom to Heidi, Shadow, Willy, Schautze, Hilda, Sophie, Emma, Gretchen, Bella, Megi, and Zoey.  Above all, she was a loving sister, wonderful aunt (affectionately nicknamed AC), and thoughtful friend. Ever ready with a kind word, a bit of advice, and a helpful hand, Connie touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

Connie is survived by her beloved little sister Trudy (Alan) Bell , of Mason, IL, nephew Chad (Cathy) Bell of Coventry, VT, as well as her niece Shannon Bell , nephew Joshua (Tera) Bell, and niece Sarah (Jerry) Ullrich, all of Mason Il, along with several great nieces and nephews and her precious rescue dog Zoey.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Wilma Rose, and her sister Joye Hart.
