Darrell Lee Potter, age 78, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022 at his home in St. Elmo.

Darrell's wishes were to have a private family service with interment taking place at Maplewood Cemetery in St. Elmo. Memorials may go to St. Elmo Fire Department or donor's choice.

Darrell was born on January 8, 1944 in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Adrian Marshall and Emma Irene (Hassebrock) Potter. He was a member of the St. Elmo United Methodist Church and the P.B.R. Club. Darrell loved fishing, traveling, farming, and making memories with his family.

He is survived by his son, Marshall Maxwell Potter of St. Elmo; daughters, Darelyn Lee Potter of Springfield, Lana Tiffany Potter of Brightwood, Oregon, and Ashley Claggett Potter of St. Elmo; sister, Donna Schaub of Decatur; lifetime friend, Lana Potter; and 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Irene Potter; and one sister, Adre Ann Harre.
