David Carroll Durbin of Farina, Illinois passed away on May 24, 2023 at home, accompanied by his beloved family members.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 29, 2023 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in St. Peter with Rev. Ryan Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or donor's choice.

David was born in St. Elmo on August 22, 1941. He graduated from Farina LaGrove High School in 1959.  He married Lila Torbeck at St. Peter's Lutheran Church on September 16, 1962.  He had a long career at World Color Press in Effingham.  He was a proficient trap shooter and an avid mushroom hunter.  He enjoyed attending church, weekly family nights, and card games.  David was a longtime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.  He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Edgewood.

He is survived by his wife, Lila Durbin of Farina; daughter, Sherri VonBehren (Donald) of Altamont; sons, Darren Durbin of St. Elmo and Brady Durbin (Fiancé Susan Fuesting) of Effingham; sisters, Monda Herring (John) of Tampa, FL., Dot Culver (John) of Stewardson, and Pat Hanson of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Giles and Ruby Durbin; brother, Joe Durbin; sisters, Reta Durbin and Alice Lara.
