Donald "Don" L. Reed, age 72, of St. Elmo, Illinois left this world for a better one where there is no pain or suffering on April 4, 2025 at Carle Hospital in Urbana.

As per Don's wishes, he will be cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to the donor's choice.

Don was born on November 18, 1952 in Vandalia, Illinois, the son of Virgil Eugene and Evelyn Gertrude (McCulloch) Reed. He married Kim M. Riley on August 27, 1982. His greatest pleasure in life was sitting around a campfire with his family.

He is survived by his wife and the light of his life, Kim Reed of St. Elmo; son, Wesley Reed of St. Elmo; daughter, Gina Reed (fiancé Nate) of Altamont; brother, Dale Reed (Shirley) of Tennessee; sisters, Ruth Reed of Paris, Carol Nichols (Andy) of Mode; grandchildren, Bo Austin of St. Elmo, Kera Reeves, Axel Reeves, and Blaze Smith all of Altamont; and mother-in-law, Linda Riley of St. Elmo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Evelyn Reed.
