Donald F. Watson, age 94, of Altamont, Illinois passed away at 6:45 p. m. Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Aperion Care Nursing Home in St. Elmo, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 at C & A Pagel Funeral Home in St Elmo, Illinois with visitation from 1 p. m. to 2:00 p. m. Masonic rites will be from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. PeeWee Denton will be officiating. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in St. Elmo, Illinois with Military Rites.  Memorials may go to the New Horizon Church, Altamont Masonic Lodge, Altamont Meals on Wheels or donor's choice.

Donald was born on March 16, 1923 in Loudon Township, Illinois, the son of Arthur S. and Minnie V. (Brady) Watson. He married Juanita Orr on October 14, 1941 in St. Charles, Missouri. Donald served his country in World War II as a Private First Class at the 594th Joint Assault Signal Corp. in the United States Army. He was a member of the Altamont Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rites and he also attended the New Horizon Church in St. Elmo, Illinois. He enjoyed wood working, gardening, working in his yard and spending time with family and friends.

Donald is survived by his two sons, Gary Watson (wife Mary K) of Mahomet, Illinois and Dennis Watson (wife Cindie) of Palm Bay, Florida; daughter, Donna Nelson (husband Lyle) of Mason, Illinois; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Minnie Watson; wife, Juanita Watson; four brothers, Dale Watson, Doyle Watson, Duane Watson, Denzil Watson and one sister, Vivian Herrin.
