Doris Fern Burkett, age 89, of Kinmundy, Illinois passed away at 2:41 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

There will be a private family service. Burial will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Shobonier, Illinois. Memorials may go to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the donor's choice.

Doris was born on June 6, 1931 in Fayette County, Illinois, the daughter of Reinhard and Anna Marie (Meyer) Magnus. She married Gene E. Burkett on November 6, 1948. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Doris was a flower gardener. She was actively involved with family members, loved making other people happy, and always had a positive attitude.

She is survived by her son, Richard Burkett of Louisville, Illinois; Dana Sigrist (husband Doug) of Farina, Illinois; four grandchildren, Kevin Burkett of Los Angeles, California, Josh Mock (wife Amanda) of Farina, Illinois, Sara Schneider (husband Ryan) of Effingham, Illinois, and Kyla Stevens (husband Bryan) of Davenport, Florida; eight great-grandchildren, Balyee Bibbs (husband Michael), Sydney Stevens, Brendon Wathan, Brody Mock, Ryley Stevens, Bella Stevens, Ryker Schneider, and Rayden Schneider.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Reinhard and Anna Marie Magnus; husband, Gene Burkett; daughter, Debra Burkett in infancy; brother, Willard Magnus; sister, Elvera Maske.
