Doris Evelyn Runge, age 82 of St. Peter, IL passed away at 1:50 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2014 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Pagel Funeral Home in St. Peter, IL. Funeral will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 19, 2014 at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in St. Peter, IL with a one hour viewing prior to the service. Reverend William Emrick will be officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in St. Peter, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Doris was born on June 1, 1932 in Bethlehem Community in Altamont, IL, the daughter of George and Clara (Buth) Kroening. She married Calvin Runge on June 28, 1953 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Altamont, IL. She was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church. Doris worked at the Torbeck's Grocery in St. Peter, then at The Grub House Family Restaurant for many years. Together, Calvin and Doris then bought The Grub House Family Restaurant, General store and Gas, operating it for 13 years. Doris enjoyed many years serving the public as a waitress in numerous restaurants throughout Altamont and Effingham. She loved to read, cross-stitch, flower garden, and collect Longabarger, but her most cherished times were spent with her children, grandchildren, and family.

She was survived by her son, Mark Runge (wife Shanna) of Sherman, IL.; daughter, Connie Guymon (husband Jamie) of Mattoon, IL.; 5 grandchildren, Brittany Lybarger, John Alexander McCormick, Tucker James Denton, Levi Robinson, and Alex Robinson; one great-grandchild, Lily Alexis Pervenecki and her beloved dog, Jade.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Clara Kroening; husband, Calvin Runge; 2 sisters, Ruth Beccue and Lydia Alwardt; grandson, Christopher Colt Blu Runge.
