Dorothy "Dot" (Simmons) Depoister, age 74, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 12:55. p.m. Thursday, November 23, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood with a two-hour visitation prior to the service. Judy Poe will be officiating. Dot was born on July 10, 1949 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Robert "Bob" and Florence (Davis) Simmons. She married Robert "Butch" Depoister on October 12, 1970 in Edgewood, Illinois.  She loved driving the school bus for unit 40 for several years. She also enjoyed traveling with her friends and loved her dog named Marley.

She is survived by her son, Ryan Depoister (wife Shalett) of Salem; brothers; Dave Cochran ( wife Gerri) of Edgewood, Jerry "Beebe" Simmons of Edgewood, and Robert "Bubbles" Simmons (wife Brenda) of Mason, sisters,  Joyce Liggett (husband Steve) of Waltonville, Sherry Simmons of Edgewood, Kathy Mosley(husband Michael) of Edgewood, Pat Harmon (husband Gary) of Edgewood, Pam Magnus (husband James) of St. Peter, Lisa Merritt of Edgewood, and Shelia White (husband Butch) of Edgewood; brother-in-law, Ronnie Colclasure in LaClede.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Florence Simmons; husband, Robert "Butch" Depoister, and one sister, Sandy Colclasure.
