Evelyn Anna Hencke, age 77 of St. Peter, Illinois passed away at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Odin Health Care in Odin, Illinois.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shobonier, IL, with Pastor Hoehler officiating. A Celebration of Life service will be held directly following the Memorial service led by Pastor Douglas Meyer, and Pastor Tim Caraway. A private family burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Shobonier, IL at a later date. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Ladies Aid.
Evelyn was a life-long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church; where she served as a member in the Ladies Aid and the choir for many years. She retired from Fayette County Hospital as Director of Medical Records. She then went on to work in Medical Records for Salem Township Hospital for 12 years. She was a charter president for Thrivent. She had an outstanding faith in the Lord. She loved to spend time with her family, garden, play cards, dice and was a wonderful cook. She had a very generous spirit, and a very loving heart.
She is survived by her three sons, Troy Peters (wife Lori) of Salem, IL, Gordon Peters (wife Tina) of Kinmundy, IL, Benjamin Hencke (wife Erica) of Altamont, IL; step-son, Kenneth Hencke (wife Sheryl) of Staunton, IL; brother, Eugene Moeller (wife Betty) of Altamont, IL; sister, Marion Butts of Odin, IL; sister-in-law, Donna Moeller of AZ; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren ,and many nieces, nephews and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodor and Elna Moeller; husband, Vernon Hencke; two brothers, Floyd and Theodor Moeller; 3 sisters Vera Moeller, Bernice Sachan and Judi English.
