Evelyn Lynn Shamhart, age 69, of Beecher City, Illinois passed away 9:58 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015 at her residence in Beecher City.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Pagel Funeral Home in Edgewood, Illinois with viewing one hour prior to service.  Burial will be in the Mason Cemetery.  Pastor Jim Giffin will be officiating.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015 at Pagel Funeral Home in Edgewood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mason Cemetery or the donor's choice.

Evelyn was born on March 17, 1946 in Aurora, Illinois, the daughter of James and Pearl (Manning) Krantz.  She married Clyde Shamhart on February 20, 1965 at the Old Christian Church in Edgewood, Illinois.  She was homemaker and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Effingham, Illinois.  Her hobbies were crocheting, baking and canning.  She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

She is survived by her husband, Clyde Shamhart of Beecher City, Illinois; two daughters, Deana Shamhart (fiancé Bill Hardiek) of Iola, Illinois and Evelyn Nicole "Nikki" Smith (husband Tommy) of Cowden, Illinois; two brothers, Bill Krantz of Iola, Illinois and Rob Krantz (wife Frannie) of Flora, Illinois; one sister, Wanda McDowell (husband Ronnie) of Flora, Illinois; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, James Berry.
