Floyd Allen Loy, age 86, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away the morning of Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the Haven of St. Elmo.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.  Interment will be at Loy Cemetery in Heartville. Memorials may go to Loy Cemetery or the donor's choice.

Floyd was born on March 12, 1939 in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Lon L. and May G. (Newkirk) Loy. He married Betty Sapp on November 6, 1989. He enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Ronald Loy (wife Cathy) of Mason; brothers, Lonnie Loy (wife Chris) of Montrose, Vernon Loy (wife Anna) of Aurora, Colorado, Gary Loy (wife Theresa) of Altamont, and Donnie Loy (wife Deb) of Effingham; sisters, Wilma Shamhart of Wheeler, Lois Edmond (husband Bob) of Osseo Michigan, and Phyllis Roop (husband Rick) of Waston; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lon and May Loy; wife, Betty Loy; sons, Jim Murry, Terry Hays, Allen Loy and one sister, Jennifer Hawes.
