Francis "Roland" O'Leary of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 2:49 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Cornerstone Christian Church in Effingham, Illinois with a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Roger McIntire will be officiating. Burial will be at Edgewood Cemetery in Edgewood, Illinois. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 at Cornerstone Christian Church in Effingham, Illinois. Memorials may go to HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Homecare Hospice, Crossroads Cancer Center in Effingham, Cornerstone Christian Church or donor's choice.

Roland was born on April 17, 1942 in Edgewood, Illinois, the son of Michael A. Isabelle J. (Ort) O'Leary. He married Marilyn I. Higgs on July 05, 1963 at Edgewood Christian Church in Edgewood, Illinois. He was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Church in Effingham, Illinois. He spent 25 years working at Salem Gravure Colorpress and 14 years as a custodian at Effingham Unit #40 school district. Roland retired on August 28, 2017. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn O'Leary of Edgewood, Illinois; three sons, Roland Dean O'Leary (wife Jody) of Ordway, Colorado, James O'Leary (wife Lisa) of Mason, Illinois, Neil O'Leary (wife Aleida) of Battlefield, Missouri; daughter, Donna Stevenson of Edgewood, Illinois; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Isabelle O'Leary and one brother, Michael W. O'Leary.
