Genevieve (Jenny) Adelaide York, age 79, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 1:34 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at St. John's Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Edgewood Harvest United Methodist Church in Edgewood, Illinois. There will be a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Jeff Morrison will be officiating. Burial will be at Edgewood Cemetery in Edgewood, Illinois. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2017 at Edgewood Harvest United Methodist Church. Memorials may go to Edgewood Harvest United Methodist Church or the donor's choice.

Genevieve was born on October 8, 1938 in Edgewood, Illinois the daughter of John A. and Edith E. (Bailey) Wilson. She married Eddie L. York on July 20, 1957 in Mississippi. She was a member of the Edgewood Harvest United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed traveling, photography, cooking, collecting antiques and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Eddie York of Edgewood, Illinois; two sons, Rick York (wife JoAnn) of Edgewood, Illinois and Darin York (wife Jennifer) of Bedford, Indiana; sister, Mary York of Edgewood, Illinois; three grandchildren, Macci Doty (husband Dan), Michele Ruesken (husband Tony), Olivia York and five great-grandchildren, Brandon Doty, Cody Blair, Wyatt Doty, Leigha Ruesken and Lance Ruesken.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edith Wilson.
