Georgia Lorene Simmons, age 85, of Mason, Illinois passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, surrounded by her family.

A private family memorial service will take place at a later date. Memorials may go the donor's choice.

Georgia was born on April 8, 1939 in Clay County, Illinois, the daughter of Dave and Georgia L. (Landreth) Hites. She married Noel Simmons on October 11, 1958 in Louisville. She was a homemaker that loved watching country music videos, doing word search puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Noel Simmons of Mason; son, Noel Simmons (wife Ina) of Mason; daughters, Karen Roedl of Altamont and Mary Anne Slifer of Altamont; brother Sonny Hites of Altamont; eighteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Georgia Hites; son-in-law, Robert Roedl; brothers, Russell Hites, Glen Hites, Kenneth Landreth, and Larry Hites; sisters, Fern Hites, Ruby Higgenbotham, and Joann Allen.
