Glenda L. Strackeljohn, age 75, of Iola, Illinois passed away at 10:02 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2021 at her residence in Iola, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois with a two-hour visitation prior to the service. Mike Durre will be officiating. Burial following the service.  Memorials may go Brown cemetery.

Due to Covid-19 concerns, it is suggested to wear a mask and follow social distancing Guidelines.

Glenda was born on September 2, 1946 in Clay County, Illinois to Louie and Neoma (Pauley) Simmons. She married Robert Strackeljohn on March 5, 1994 in Edgewood, Illinois. She loved going to the Coffee shop to spend time with her friends and drinking coffee. She also enjoyed going to auctions, embroidery, and was an avid Elvis Presley fan. Glenda always enjoyed her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her three sons, Eddie Burgess Sr. (wife Bert) of Altamont, IL., Troy Burgess of Edgewood, IL., and Ronald Strackeljohn (companion Christina Hanks) of Iola, IL.; one daughter, Terri Kemper (companion Keith) of Arcola, IL.; One stepdaughter, Susan Hatfill (Husband Chris) of Edgewood, IL.; one brother, Jessie Simmons (wife Irma) of LaClede, IL.; 9 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Neoma Simmons; husband, Robert Strackeljohn; five brothers, Richard,  Louie Paul, and Verle Wayne Simmons, plus twin brothers in infancy; six sisters, Alietha White, Reida Hites, Lila Mae Braundmeier, Gladys Zavala, Carolyn Tate, Mary Ellen Ingram and one brother-in-law, Verle White.
