Helen P. Hites, age 98, formerly of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 1:07 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2020 at Bickford Senior Living in Champaign, Illinois.

Graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Edgewood Cemetery in Edgewood, Illinois. Nathan Delks will be officiating. Memorials may go to the donor's choice.

Helen was born on August 22, 1922 in Edgewood, Illinois, the daughter of Clarence Jennings Prather Sr. and Mary A. (Jordan) Prather. She married Warren G. "Buck" Hites in April of 1939. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Hendrickson of Plano, Texas; sister, Ferne Bee of Effingham, Illinois; nephews, David Prather (wife Tracy), Tim Rush (wife Susie), Mark Bee; nieces, Judy Ballinger (husband Gil), Rachel Beck (husband Roger) Michelle Newton (husband Bob) and Lisa Davis (husband Terry).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Sr. and Mary Prather; brothers, Clarence Prather Jr., Otis Prather, Mark Prather; sisters, Rosella Rush, and Janice Prather; nephews, Darryl Rush and Paul Prather.
