Iris F. Orr, age 85, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 7:52 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Aperion Care in St. Elmo, Illinois.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Maplewood Cemetery in St. Elmo, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Horizon Church at 502 Tower Road St. Elmo, Illinois 62458 or the donor's choice.

Iris was born on February 20, 1934 in Ramsey, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Faye (Hudson) Denton. She married Jack Orr on July 3,1953 in Vandalia, Illinois. She was a librarian at the St. Elmo Library for 25 years. She was a member of the New Horizon Church in St. Elmo, Illinois. Iris loved to read and spend time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Sam Orr of Newark, Ohio; daughter, Sharon Buenker (husband Jeff) of Effingham, Illinois; two brothers, Kent Denton (wife Helen) of St. Elmo, Illinois and Keith Denton (wife Mary) of Beecher City, Illinois; sister, Marian Richardson of Frankfort, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Reese Buenker, Quincy Buenker, and Joel Buenker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Faye Denton; husband, Jack Orr; one son, Steven Orr; brothers, David Denton, Charles Denton, and Kenneth Denton; sisters, Violet Klinghammer, Loraine Smith, and Thelma Park.
