James Ullrich, age 65 of Altamont, Illinois passed away at 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 09, 2015 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health care in Effingham, IL.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Pagel Funeral Home in Edgewood, Illinois. Funeral service will be at12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015 with one hour viewing prior to service at the Jackson Twp. Baptist Church, rural Altamont with military rites. Kevin Knierim will be officiating. Burial will be in Little Prairie Cemetery, rural Altamont with military rites. Memorials may be made to Little Prairie Cemetery or donor's choice.
James was born on May 16, 1949 in Effingham County, the son of Wilbert H. and Neva R. (Higgs) Ullrich. He is a retired laborer for the local Union Post #1197, retired truck driver from Henderson Trucking Company after several years. He is a member of the Effingham American Legion Post # 120 and a lifetime member of the Altamont VFW Post #7676. He was also a member of the bird and flower club, North American Hunting Club, and the North American Fishing Club.
He is survived by his two sons, James Nathan Ullrich of Effingham, IL., Jason Emanuel Ullrich of Altamont, IL.; daughter, Tara Caraway of St. Elmo, IL.; brother, Joe Ullrich (wife Mary) of Altamont, IL.; three sisters, June Cain (husband Harold) of Mason, IL., Judy Kuhlman (husband Gerald) of Mason, IL., Joyce McClellan (husband Dean) of Sigel, IL.; Sisters in Law, Jo Ann Ullrich of Altamont, IL. and Carol Sue Ullrich of Mason, IL; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Dorothy Ullrich; son, James Nolan Ullrich Jr.; second wife, Klover Lynn; daughter, Rita Lynn Koester; two brothers, Jackie N. Ullrich and Jerry N. Ullrich.
