Janet Kay Scammahorn, age 72, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 1:47 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015 St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at St. Elmo Christian Church, St. Elmo, Illinois with one hour viewing prior to the service with Tom Fedrigon officiating.  Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in St. Elmo, Illinois.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Christian Church in St. Elmo, Illinois.  Memorials may be made to the family in care of Frank Barnard or the donor's choice.  Online condolences may be made at www.pagelfuneralhome.com

She was born March 18, 1943 in Eldorado, Illinois , the daughter of Allsie J. and Kathryn (Elder) Caraway.  Janet enjoyed playing bingo, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by sons, Jay (wife Penny) Buie, Randy Buie, and Frank Barnard of St. Elmo, Illinois; daughters, Shannon (husband Dan) Reed and Samantha (husband Jim) Myers of St. Elmo, Illinois; brothers, Butch (wife Connie) Caraway of Edgewood, Illinois, Jim (wife Cindy) Caraway, Mont (wife Jody) Caraway, Mike (wife Patty) Caraway, Dean (wife Michelle) Caraway of St. Elmo, Illinois; sister, Julie Caraway of St. Elmo, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Allsie J. and Kathryn Caraway and one sister, Anita Caraway.
