Janice Katherine Russell, age 55, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 7:11 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023 in the comfort of her home with her family by her side.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Pagel Funeral Homes in St. Elmo, Illinois with a one-hour visitation prior to the service. PeeWee Denton will be officiating. Interment will take place at Springhill Cemetery in rural St. Elmo. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Pagel Funeral Homes in St. Elmo. Memorials may go to the donor's choice.

Janice was born on November 1, 1967 in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Gary R. and Ella Mae (McVicker) Wright. She married J. D. Russell on November 14, 1997.  Janice was a member of the Avena Park District and Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, watching hockey, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, J.D. Russell of St. Elmo; daughters, Kaitlyn Russell of St. Elmo, Courtney Russell (Trevor Watkins) of St. Elmo, and Kyra Russell of St. Elmo; brothers, Larry Wright of St. Elmo and Craig Wright (wife Dianna) of St. Elmo; sisters, Patricia Wright of St. Elmo and Sandra May (husband Tracy) of St. Elmo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gary and Ella Mae Wright; brother, Danny Wright; and sister-in-law, Lynn Wright.
