John Allen Chisler Sr., age 80, of Watson, Illinois passed away at 10:26 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois with a two-hour visitation prior to the service. Lucas Shelley and Ben Bear will be officiating. Burial will be at Watson Cemetery. Memorials may go to Crossroads Cancer Center, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or the donor's choice.

John was born on June 28, 1941 in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Christopher T. and Clara E. (Sutton) Chisler. He loved four-wheeling, farming, his cattle, his weekly lotto tickets, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by the love of his life, Shirley Elder of Watson; daughters, Michele Bannick (fiancé Daniel Decker) of Sigel and Sara Chisler of Watson; brother, James Chisler of Punta Gorda, Florida; 8 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Clara Chisler; sons, John Allen Chisler Jr. and Cody Allen Chisler; daughter, Lisa Robbins; and sister in infancy.
