John Eber Hester, Jr. 86, of Anna, Illinois passed away at 6:00 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019, at the Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham, Illinois.

Cremation rites will be observed, and no services are planned. Memorials may be made to the activity department of the Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham, Illinois.

John was born April 24, 1932 the son of John Eber Hester, Sr. and Helen Miram (Phillips) Hester in Los Angeles, California. He was a beekeeper and enjoyed botany. John always kept a journal of his life and held an interest in World news.

John is survived by his son, Sam (wife, Christy) of Edgewood, Illinois; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Hester.
