Joseph Carl Bushue, age 53, of Mason, Illinois passed away at 8:54 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2022 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood with a one-hour viewing prior. Father Joseph Havrilka will be officiating. Burial will be at St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery in Edgewood. Rosary will be at 4:30 p.m. followed by a visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Pagel Funeral Homes. Memorials may go to St. Anne's Cemetery, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or the donor's choice.

Joe was born on March 28, 1969 in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Joseph L. and Betty Jean (Clough) Bushue. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Edgewood. He was an avid Cubs and Steelers fan. Joe was a supporter of Camp Ondessonk and was a counselor there for several years. He enjoyed traveling with his family. Joe was extremely proud of his entire family.

He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Betty Jean Bushue of Mason; brothers, Rob Bushue (wife Rebecca) of Mason and Brad Bushue (wife Angela) of Mason; grandma, Martha Bushue of Mason; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Woodrow and Ruby Clough and Earl Bushue.
