Judy Long, age 74, formerly Mason, Illinois passed away at 8:20 p.m. January 16, 2023 at the St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral service will be Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois with a two hour visitation prior to the service. Ron Mulvaney will be officiating. The burial will be at Leith Cemetery in rural Mason, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Effingham Humane Society or the donor's choice.

Judy was born November 11, 1948, in West Township, Effingham County, Illinois, the daughter of John Wesley and Mary Elizabeth (Shup) Yingst.  She married Donald R. Long on July 1, 1984, in Effingham, Illinois.   Judy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Effingham, Illinois. She enjoyed doing crafts, working puzzles, and loved animals. She also made lots of necklaces to give away. She especially loved giving Clayton Pagel a hard time and spending time with her family.

Judy is survived by one brother, Robert Yingst (wife Lydia) of Oreana, Illinois; three sisters, Connie Tipsword of Effingham, Illinois, Gladys Austin of Edgewood, Illinois, Elaine Karnes (husband Ivan) of St. Elmo, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Yingst; husband, Donald Long; brothers, Floyd "Bill" Yingst, John Yingst Jr., and Lewis Yingst; sisters; Roberta Horath, Rosemary Higgs, Deloris Lilley, Elsie Robinson, Florence Cobel, Mabel Fancher, Ethel Simmons, Carolyn Lawhorn; and two children, Jess and Hazel Yingst, who died in infancy.
