Linda Mae Hitch, age 70 of Farina passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 12, at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood with a one hour viewing prior to the service. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at the Pagel Funeral Home in Edgewood. Bob Byrd will be officiating. Burial will be at Keen's Chapel in Larkinsburg Township. Memorials may go to Farina United Methodist Church, Keen's Chapel, or donor's choice.
Linda was born on June 11, 1944 in Vandalia, the daughter of Harry E. and Irma I. (Woolridge) Hitch. She enjoyed music, dancing, playing shuffleboard, classic movies, spending time with her family and friends, and activities at the Farina and Kinmundy American Legions. She was a graduate of La Grove High School in Farina, a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church of Farina, and a former Democratic Party Committee woman who helped with voter registration, and the 1980 census. She worked at the Farina News and several other positions throughout the years. She supported the Church, the choir and had an outstanding faith in the Lord, a fun loving spirit and a very caring and compassionate heart.
Linda is survived by her son, Bryan (wife Risa) of Mascoutah; daughter, Sara Shirley (husband Greg) of Toledo; eight grandchildren, Patrick Allen, Rachel Allen, Rebecca Allen, Joseph Herboth, Zachary Herboth, Brooks Shirley, Ava Shirley and Caitlin Allen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, Adam Allen; and her brother, Wendell Hitch.
