Lynda Ann Devore, 65, of Beecher City, Illinois passed away at 5:40 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2014 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Visitation will be held between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Beecher City, Illinois on Saturday, September 13, 2014. A memorial service will immediately follow.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the church or the charity of your choice are encouraged by the family.

Lynda was born in Shelbyville, Illinois on December 7, 1948, the daughter of Delno and Virginia (Golden) Hopper.  She married George Devore on January 9, 1965 in Beecher City, Illinois.  She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, American Hemerocallis Society, and the Genealogical Society of Effingham.  Lynda was also the Liberty Township Clerk for several years.  Her greatest joys in life were gardening, genealogy, fishing, her husband, her children, and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

She is survived by her husband George; two brothers James Hopper of Union, Ohio and John Hopper of Phoenix, Arizona; two sons Tim Devore of Chicago, Illinois and Jeff Devore of Evansville, Indiana; daughter Stephani Poe of Arthur, Illinois; two grandchildren, Casey and Teddy Poe, both of Arthur, Illinois; and one great-grandchild Braydon Poe of Arcola, Illinois.

Lynda was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild, Heather Poe.
