Marilyn Phyllis Kramer, age 76 of Farina, IL passed away at 9:28 a.m. Thursday December 18, 2014 at the Evergreen Nursing & Rehab Center in Effingham, IL.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Kinmundy, IL. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Kinmundy. Father Larry Lemay will be officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Kinmundy. Memorials may be made to the Farina Fire & Ambulance or the Parkinson Disease Association. Marilyn was born on June 24, 1938 in LaClede Township, the daughter of Theodore and Phyllis (Yund) Sigrist. She married Melvin Eugene Kramer on February 15, 1958 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Kinmundy, IL. (Formerly known as St. Philomena Catholic Church). Marilyn was a valedictorian at LaGrove high school in 1956. She was a member of the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, where she was a religious education teacher there for several years. She was a member of the Illinois Angus Auxiliary, lifetime member of the National Park Association, the Arctic Circle Club, Red Hatters Club, and she was a Fayette County election judge for many years. She enjoyed farming, showing livestock especially Angus cattle, gardening, camping, traveling, reading Catholic devotionals, word search puzzles, and she was an avid St. Louis cardinal fan. Marilyn was known to be a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Marilyn leaves behind her husband, Melvin Eugene Kramer of Farina, IL; three sons, Marvin Kramer (wife Vickey) of Farina, IL, Keith Kramer (wife Denise) of Farina, IL., Bruce Kramer (wife Kay) of Missoula, MT; three daughters, Kathleen Harms (husband Dave) of West Chicago, IL., Judy Hinshaw (husband Dan) of Secor, IL., Alicia Miller (husband Marcus) of Forrest, IL; brother, Doug Sigrist (wife Dana) of Farina, IL; sister, Kathy Engel (husband Wendell) of Farina, IL; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Phyllis Sigrist and brother, Dean Sigrist
