Mary Etta Simmons, age 77 of Mason, IL passed away at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 with one hour viewing prior to service at the Pagel Funeral Home in Edgewood, Illinois. Judy Poe will be officiating. Burial will be at Keen's Chapel Cemetery in rural LaClede. Memorials may be made to the family or donor's choice.

Mary Etta as born on January 22, 1937 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of Archie M. and Opal (Case) Bass. She married Ralph Simmons Sr. on November 29, 1952 in Iola, IL. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, painting, and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Simmons Sr. of Mason, IL.; two sons, Hal Simmons (wife Diane) of Mason, IL., Joey Simmons (wife Penny) of Mode, IL; two daughters, Sandy Alwardt and Tracie Pontious both of Mason, IL; two brothers, Murrell and Raymond Bass; two sisters, Beverly Schrader (husband Paul) and Linda Babb (husband Gerald); sister-in-law, Ginger Bass and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Rex Simmons and Ralph Simmons Jr.; daughter, Madonna Depoister; brother, George Bass; sister-in-law, Joy Bass.
