Michael Allan Wirz, age 73, of Brownstown`, Illinois passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Effingham.

A Mass of Catholic Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Elmo with a visitation from 12:00 p.m. to time of service. Father Ron Lorilla will be officiating. Interment will take place at Bonaventure Cemetery in rural St Elmo.

Michael was born on June 20, 1950 in Vandalia, Illinois, the son of Allan and Catherine Rosalee (Yates) Wirz. Michael was a U.S. Navy veteran and was retired from St. Anthony Memorial hospital after 25 years.

He is survived by his sister, Jean Rieches of Clinton, Indiana, and niece Sue Cooperrider from Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allan and Rosalee Wirz.
