Norma Jean Verdeyen, age 88 of Mason, Illinois passed away at 6:05 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Pagel Funeral Home in Edgewood, Illinois with a one hour viewing prior to service.

Kent Robinson will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mason Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Pagel Funeral Home in Edgewood, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Salt Creek Church or donor's choice.

She was born on June 16, 1926 in Mason Township, the daughter Fredrick and Myrtle (Loughead) Buchholz. She married Delmor H. Verdeyen in November 15, 1947 in Edgewood, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1997.

Norma enjoyed crocheting, reading and traveling. She also loved flowers, spending time with family, friends and especially with her grandchildren.

She leaves behind her three sons, Ronald Verdeyen (wife Tammy) of Mason, Illinois, Richard Verdeyen (wife Kathy) of Effingham, Illinois and Lee Verdeyen of Mason, Illinois; four daughters, Janet Tooker (husband Ronald) of Effingham, Illinois, Barbara Flood (husband Leon) of Brocton, Illinois, Donna Gail Bootenberg (husband James) Mendota, Illinois and Sandy Manke (husband Jeff) of Westby Wisconsin; Sister-in-law, Neva Buchholz of Bardwell, Teaxs; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death was her parents; brother, Maurice Buchholz and sister, Mary Hastings.
