Paul Steward McCall, age 69 formerly of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 2 a.m. Monday, March 02, 2015 at his sister's home in Stewardson, Illinois after dealing with a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be held at Restitution Cemetery south of Casey, Illinois at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015. Jim Giffin will be officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Elmo Historical Society "Save the Elmo Fund" in care of C & A Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo, Illinois.
Paul was born on September 23, 1945 in Olney, Illinois, the son of
R. Bruce and Ruth Dare (Steward) McCall.
He was raised in St. Elmo, Illinois, graduating from St. Elmo High School in 1963. He later went to Lincoln Trail College where he earned his degree in petroleum technology. He was employed for a time at British Petroleum in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Paul was an avid old movie fan, but he also enjoyed horse racing and fishing.
He is survived by his four children, Marshall and Raymond Cosme of
Shreveport, Louisiana, Bruce McCall of San Angelo, Texas and Miranda Stovall of San Angelo, Texas; one brother, James McCall ( wife Barbara)
of Mesquite, Nevada;
three sisters, Dr. Jennieann Heischmidt (husband Mark) of St. Elmo, Illinois, Sarah Mc Call Gentry of Stewardson, Illinois and Shellie Dahmen of Bunkerville, Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Ruth McCall and two siblings, Robert and Hope McCall.
